Comm-Unity Networking Systems Privacy Statement
Introduction
We believe very strongly in our customers' right of privacy. Any information we collect from our customers, either through our website, through email exchanges, or through internet-enabled products, is for our use and for our use only. All customer data is stored solely on our computers and never leaves our computers. We will never sell, or otherwise distribute, our customers' information in any way, shape, or form, unless required by law to do so.
Information we collect and why
- Through our website: All non-purchase forms on our website collect your name and email address. In addition to your name and email address, our purchase form collects your physical address and other contact information. We collect your name so that we can address you by name for immediate and future contact. We store your email address to respond to your inquires and questions, as well as for sending news and product updates to you. All of our email newsletters contain opt-out instructions and you can always opt-in or opt-out at anytime using this form. We collect your physical address and other contact information when purchasing to better assist you with future purchases or for sending purchase order collection notices if that purchase method is chosen. As of April, 2007, we do not currently "snail-mail" anything to you, other than the above mentioned purchase order collection notices. If in the future, we decide a physical mail-out would be a viable marketing solution, we will provide ways to opt-out of them if you choose. All of the above information is used to verify your identity when re-issuing lost license keys and handling product upgrades. The more accurate the information, the faster those processes will be. We do not store any credit card information on our servers. All credit card information is securely transmitted to our credit card processor directly at the time of purchase and is not passed through or processed by any of our servers.
- Through email exchanges: When providing technical support for our products, it’s possible that other types of personal information, such as usernames and passwords, will be transmitted to us. If this information is transmitted to us, we will never use it without expressed permission from you. The majority of the time, such information is not relevant to the technical support cases, and is usually ignored and/or removed from future correspondence.
- Through internet-enabled products: As of 2007, our desktop products contain a feature which transmits your name, computer MAC Address, computer IP Address, and optionally your email address to our servers in order to issue a Demo License Key for you to use with the product. With the exception of your email address, the information collected is used to generate a unique Demo License Key for your computer, as well as to aid in statistical analyses of product exposure. The information is not used for any other purposes. If you supply an email address and choose to opt-in to email news and updates, we will use that email address for those purposes. As with collecting your email address through our website, you can opt-in or opt-out of those email newsletters at any time with this form. None of our iOS applications directly contact our servers in any way and therefore no information is exchanged between our iOS applications and our servers.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
