Description

SMTPit has a very simple, but very important job: send email. Because SMTPit is a plug-in, it has a natural advantage over FileMaker's built in Send Mail script step. Using SMTPit to send email means that you do not have to use any other application but FileMaker. It also means that you can write your email script once and know that it will work on any version of FileMaker after version 4, and any version of windows and mac. Besides this basic functionality, SMTPit has more to offer than the built in Send Mail script step. You can send any number of attachments and reference them dynamically. You can send HTML messages. You can create email headers. You can basically send any type of email that you can dream up. On top of all that, it is extremely easy to use.

Unsupported Software

As of September 1, 2007, this plug-in is officially retired and is no longer supported. Any bugs or problems this plug-in may have will not be fixed, and technical support is not available. If you are using FileMaker Pro 7 or above, we highly recommend you use SMTPit Pro, especially since SMTPit Pro is supported software.
