[ANN] MMColor 1.6 Released -- Compatibility Updates / Enhancements / Bug Fixes

COMM-UNITY NETWORKING SYSTEMS RELEASES MMColor 1.6, A FILEMAKER PRO PLUG-IN.

Fort Worth, TX, February 16, 2009 -- Comm-Unity Networking Systems releases an update to MMColor which includes compatibility improvements with the recently released FileMaker Pro® 10 as well as several enhancements to slider placement on Zoomed and Scrolled Layouts. This version also includes several bug fixes. MMColor is available immediately at http://mmcolor.cnsplug-ins.com/ for both Mac OS® X and Windows®.

Description

MMColor is a user interface plug-in that allows your users to work with color palettes more like they would in any professional design application. MMColor has functions for bringing up the system color picker as well as custom sliders for adjusting any Component of any Color Space used by MMColor right in FileMaker® Pro. MMColor supports the RGB, HSV, HSL, CMY, and CMYK Color Spaces. The colors returned from MMColor can be used with FileMaker Pro's TextColor calculation function to colorize text in fields, or it can return color chips that can be stored in container fields. The color chips can be set to any RGB value, any width and height, and any level of alpha transparency. You can use these color chips to dynamically alter the entire appearance of your solution in a matter of seconds, or allow your users to define their own color schemes for the solution you created for them.

What's New

  • Imported bug fixes and enhancements from the core code of other CNS Plug-ins.
  • PNG images are correctly created now (instead of faked) to help with printing and exporting the color chips.
  • JPEG "Preview" images are correctly created now (instead of faked) to help with printing and exporting the color chips as well as viewing the color chips through Instant Web Publishing.
  • The Mac OS version of the plug-in now requires 10.4 and above to work correctly handle the above PNG and JPEG images.
  • Added VersionAutoUpdate function.
  • Updated the Slider positioning code to correctly place the Sliders with FileMaker Pro 10's new "Status Bar".
  • Renamed the "AttachToActiveField" parameter of ShowSlider and ShowColorSpaceSlider to "AttachToObject". The parameter still will take a true/false value for attaching the Slider to the Active Field. However, the parameter now will also accept the name of a Layout Object and will attach the Slider to that Layout Object (FMP 8.5+).
  • Created a Server Edition of the plug-in for using it with the Web Publishing Engine on Server. The plug-in can also be used under the normal Database Engine with Scheduled Scripts, but the usefulness of that may be limited.
  • The plug-in also went through general code clean up to clear out all the dust and cob webs from the code. :)
