We have been making FileMaker Pro plug-ins since 1999 and we have enjoyed every minute of it. However, there comes a time when it becomes quite difficult to support technology that is aging and aging and aging...

The plug-ins we are retiring were developed for FileMaker Pro 4-6. The FileMaker Pro Plug-in Architecture changed greatly after these plug-ins were released. We have updated many of these plug-ins for this newer plug-in interface, and have greatly enhanced each product in doing so.

The solution we are retiring never sold very many copies, but rather than just shelve the product and forget about it, we are providing it free for any developers interested in it. The solution uses our MMColor and CNS Menu plug-ins and shows off how to leverage those plug-ins to build a very user-friendly interface in FileMaker Pro.


What Do We Mean By Retired?

The products that we are retiring will either be offered at half the price they previously cost or will become completely free. None of the retired products will be supported. If there are any bugs or problems with the products, they will not be fixed. In most cases there are newer products for use with FileMaker Pro 7 and above that replace these retired products. For those products that have no replacements, there may be replacement products in the future. Any purchases of the retired plug-ins at the discounted prices will not be eligible for upgrade to FileMaker Pro 7+ versions of the plug-ins.


Which Products are Retired?

• SMTPit 3.1.3 -- This is the final version of SMTPit 3.x for FileMaker Pro 4-6. The price of the plug-in starts at $27.50 for the 1 User License; other prices can be found on our website. If you are using FileMaker Pro 7 or above, we highly recommend upgrading to SMTPit Pro.
• POP3it 3.0.20 -- This is the final version of POP3it 3.x for FileMaker Pro 4-6. The price of the plug-in starts at $27.50 for the 1 User License; other prices can be found on our website. If you are using FileMaker Pro 7 or above, we highly recommend upgrading to POP3it Pro.
• SCRIPTit 1.0.7 -- This is the final version of SCRIPTit 1.x for FileMaker Pro 4-6. The price of the plug-in starts at $42.50 for the 1 User License; other prices can be found on our website. If you are using FileMaker Pro 7 or above, we highly recommend upgrading to CNS Menu and/or MMScript.
• SAVEit 1.5/2.0b1 -- These are the final versions of SAVEit for FileMaker Pro 4-6. This plug-in is completely free. A free Site/Worldwide Registration Number can be found on the SAVEit Product Page on our website. We do not currently have a FileMaker Pro 7+ replacement for this plug-in, but we are considering making one.
• SPEAKit 1.0 -- This is the final version of SPEAKit 1.x for FileMaker Pro 4-6. This plug-in is completely free. A free Site/Worldwide Registration Number can be found on the SPEAKit Product Page on our website. We do not currently have a FileMaker Pro 7+ replacement for this plug-in, but we are considering making one.
• Color Inspector 1.0 -- This is the final version of Color Inspector 1.x for FileMaker Pro 7 and above. The download for this Solution is now completely unlocked. You can now view all parts of the database and use it in any way you see fit.

The new 1.5 version of MMColor now adds the ability to specify the size of the Color Image that you need. Your menu items can have a display name and a separate value that can be used in your scripts, so the end user can see useful information such as a customer name while the value can be a Customer ID number.

CNS Menu ships with the "CNS Menu.fp7" example database which includes 15 examples demonstrating ways to use and understand the CNS Menu plug-in. The database is fully unlocked so you can explore every detail. We have also included the documentation for each example inline, so you can both examine the example and see its explanation all from one layout. MMEmail is a user-friendly send email plug-in for FileMaker Pro 7 and later. It is different than other email plug-ins in the sense that it does most of the work for both the end-user and the developer.

MMEmail has a built-in email window which allows the end-user to compose an email message as if they were using a normal email client. From within the email window, you can set the To, Subject, and Body, as well as Attach files. You can use a special Auto-enter Hierarchal Menu of predefined email addresses to populate the To field. The Subject and Body of your message can contain Merge Fields to grab information from the current record before sending the message. Merge Fields can be inserted easily with a Contextual Menu. You can select Attachments via a file dialog as well as selecting Container Fields from a menu. When you click the Send button, the email window can automatically send the message, or store entered values for use with a non-window email function.

As with our popular SMTPit Pro plug-in, you do not need an additional email client to send email because MMEmail sends directly to your mail server.
