Why does the plug-in not show up in FileMaker on Windows?
As mentioned in the system requirements, in order to use the plug-in on Windows you must have Microsoft's .Net Framework version 3.5 service pack 1 installed on your computer. The chart below shows the default versions of .Net that are installed in the various versions of Windows.
Default Installed .Net Versions | |
| Windows Version | .Net Version |
|---|---|
| Windows XP | Does not include .Net by default |
| Windows Server 2003 | v1.1 |
| Windows Server 2003 R2 | v2.0 |
| Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 | v3.0 |
| Windows 7 | v3.5 sp1 |
If you are unsure what versions of the .Net framework you have installed on your computer, Microsoft provides a webpage to help you determine which versions you have installed. You may also be able to go to the Control Panel in Windows, and then "Programs and Features" or "Add or Remove Programs" and see what versions you have installed. Note, this will only show versions you have installed and not the default version(s) that were included with Windows.
If you do not have v3.5 sp1 installed, you can download it from Microsoft's .Net Framework 3.5 sp1 page.
If you have v4.0 installed, but not v3.5 sp1, the plug-in will still not appear in FileMaker. Unfortunately, because of the way .Net works with plug-ins, you must still have v3.5 sp1 installed even if you are currently using v4.0. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
